Here are the other cars I have owned
My first car was a 1969 Buick Skylark. It had a 350-2BBL with a 2 speed power glide transmission. I paid $335 for it in 1980. It was originally Lime Green Poly with dark green interior. The previous owner had it painted butterscotch brown.
After too many neutral drops, the rear end finally let go. I went to the local salvage yard and picked up a new rear end out of a Pontiac Lemans. It had air shocks attached, and that sounded like fun, so I put them on the Buick. It was starting to look like a hot rod. lol
A friend gave me a set of Cragers with 50's mounted on them. They didn't fit under the flat Skylark fender wells, so I cut them round. I think I was trying to sell the car at one point and took the Cragers off.
My second car was a 1970 Monte Carlo. It had a 350-4 BBL with a 350 automatic transmission.
It had bucket seats with the horseshoe console shifter. I should have kept this one.
Next up was a 1981 Subaru that I bought in 1984. This was my first manual transmission and that changed everything. I thought it would be more economical, but it was boring to drive.
Next up, A 1982 Mercury LN7. This was a 2-seat, 4 cylinder, 5 speed with a sunroof, and it was fun to drive until a lady turned in front of me on 380 south and we hit head on. That was the end of that one.
I picked up my first new car, a Ford EXP GT. This was a newer Ford version of the Mercury LN7. I had a peppy 4 cylinder with another 5 speed. Again, it was a fun car to drive, but I missed my GM horsepower.
In 1986 I bought this 1968 Corvette Convertible. It had a 327/350 HP with a 4 speed. It was a basket case when I got it, but I slowly worked out all the bugs. I guess this was my first attempt at restoration.
I got it running and driving and cleaned up the body. I replaced the Hooker headers and side pipes along with new wheels and tires.
I eventually had it painted and finished the interior.
I liked the body mods, but ultimately I am a purist and wanted it to look more original.
In 1988 I special ordered the infamous 1989 Formula with a 305 TPI-5 speed
You already know the rest of this story.
My first boat was a joint venture with a couple friends. We bought a 1979 Somerset open bow with a 350 4BBL.
I kept them both for a while, but as you know, I eventually sold the Formula in 1994
In 2001 the left rear wheel in the Corvette sheared 4 of the 5 lug bolts while I was coming up to a stop sign (fortunately). When the wheel came off, the body came down on the wheel and shattered the fiberglass body. I took the insurance money and sold the rest.
In 1992 I bought a Four Winns 220 Horizon open bow boat. I spent many hours on a kneeboard and various towables behind this boat.
I picked up this slick 1966 Olds 98 to tow the boat. It had a 455 Super Rocket and actually towed well. I got some interesting looks driving down the highway towing a new boat, but it worked.
While the Oldsmobile was cool, I needed something a little better suited for towing. I picked up this 1979 Suburban.
In 1995 I special ordered this 1995 GMC Suburban. It was a 3/4 ton with a 454. I kept this one for 16 years and spent many weekends towing my boat to the Ohio River, Norris Lake, Lake Cumberland, and Dale Hollow lake.
.In 1997 it was time to upgrade the boat. I special ordered this 1997 Baja 272 with a 502 magnum.
This boat has filled my life with great memories and will continue to do so for many more years.
The Suburban wasn't exactly economical to drive around town, getting 10-12 MPG, so I bought a 2001 Honda Accord. This was a 4 cylinder-5 speed. Yeah, there is starting to be a theme with manual transmission cars.
Although I spent most of my time on the Baja at the river, I still missed my 89 Formula. Since I had no luck finding it, I bought the next best thing at the time.
This was a 2 year old 2002 WS6 Trans Am 6 speed convertible. I kept it for a couple years, but eventually sold it. As much fun as it was to drive, it just wasn't my 89 Formula, so I let it go. Hind site, I should have kept it.
in 2011 I finally retired the 1995 Suburban and ordered this 2011 Toyota Tundra.
The new technology and engineering made it a much better tow vehicle than the Suburban.
in 2014, I bought the 1969 Buick Skylark
This was the official start to my new obsesssion
later in 2014, I found this very close version of my 89 formula
It had the 305 TPI, 5 speed, red with grey interior, but it was missing the T-tops and the story
Also in 2014, we added the 2003 Mercedes SL55 AMG
This is a true super car with a 492 HP supercharged V-8 and rtractable hardtop convertible.
In 2016 I finally replaced my 1968 Corvette with a much better version
350-4 BBl, 4 speed, Hooker headers and side pipes with stock body
In 2019 I added this 1967 Chevelle Malibu
It still has its original 283, but has been upgraded to a 4 speed manual transmission
in 2020 I found my original 1989 F
You know the rest of this story
in 2021 I added this 1958 Impala 2 door sport coupe
400 small block Chevy with a Muncie 4 speed.
in 2021 we added this 2021 Infinity Q60
